The HPC Become The HCPC

On the 1st August 2012 the Health Professions Council (HPC) changed it’s name to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

The change in name came about because of the Health and Social Care Act 2012 which saw the HPC taking on the regulation of social workers in England as well as health workers.

Members of the public looking for a private Chiropodist or Podiatrist are advised to look for a HCPC registered podiatrist as the old HPC logo is gradually being phased out.

The HCPC regulates health, psychological and social work professionals by making sure they are properly qualified members of their professions and are able to provide a high standard of practice.

The term Chiropodist / Podiatrist is a professional title which is protected by law and can only be used by those registed with the HCPC.

The HCPC ensures that all podiatrists keep their skills up to date with a continual professional development programme. This means that your podiatrist will be able to advise you on conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes and stroke, all of which can have an effect on your feet.

Our Senior Podiatrist – Julia Price is registered with the HCPC (registration number CH15139) and you can confirm Julia’s registration on the HCPC’s website. domain abuse
